ITINERARY Day 1 Welcome to our Morocco surf and cultural vacation! Prepare yourself for one of the most fascinating, colorful and culture-rich countries on the planet. Also prepare for some of the world's best surfing! We will pick you up at Marrakech airport and drive you to a traditional Moroccan riad in the medina where you'll spend your first night. Tonight you'll thrill in the bewitchery of the night that beats in the heart of the famed square, Djemaa el-Fna. Snake charmers, hustlers and mischievous monkeys are part of the nightly drama that unfolds, as Berber acrobats, fortune tellers, musicians, and engaging storytellers seduce rapt crowds. You'll also enjoy a delicious dinner on the square before retiring to our charming riad.

Day 2 Wake up in the vibrant city of Marrakech, an enchanting palm oasis set against the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas mountains. We'll visit the ancient Bahia Palace and the royal Saadian Tombs, explore the vibrant and historic Jewish mellah, and see the majestic Koutoubia Mosque before heading into the 9th-century walled medina, where we'll wander the ancient souk, or market. After lunch, we'll drive to a Berber village outside of Tamraght, where we'll check into our ocean view guesthouse. Tonight we'll relax on the veranda, watch the sunset and get ready for the day ahead of us on the water.

Day 3 Thanks to its long, smooth, and crowd-free breaks, Morocco is an ideal place to learn to surf. Depending on the swell, guests will receive their first day of coaching at one of the many local beach breaks that offer consistent waves. After your first day on the waves, we'll head back to our guesthouse for a delicious dinner and well-earned rest.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Day 4 Today we will head out to the beach with the best conditions-offering some challenges to try out your new skills. Surf beaches in this region are known for their long, smooth beach break; perfect for beginner/intermediates, and a quality point break for more advanced surfers. After a morning of surfing, we'll return to the guesthouse for lunch and depart to Agadir to visit the local souk and the Kasbah overlooking the city. For dinner, choose from one of the local restaurants in Agadir.

Day 5 Today we'll be out on the water again, working on improving our surf skills. From our surf base north of Agadir, the Moroccan coastline extends south, almost unexplored, for nearly 1000 km (620 miles) to the border area of the Occidental Sahara. Dinner at the guesthouse. Another perfect day!

Day 6 Today is our last day of surfing and you will be amazed at how much your surfing has improved! If you were a beginner at the start of the session, by now you are almost certainly enjoying the thrill of catching and riding waves. If you began as an intermediate or advanced surfer, you'll have had the chance to fine-tune your technique and enjoy excellent quality, 'locals-only' breaks.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Day 7 This morning we'll drive to the High Atlas mountains, where Berber villages have stood for centuries. We'll drop our bags of at our charming riad (Moroccan guesthouse) in the tiny village of Anrar and then take a break for a traditional snack- a cup of tea with Berber bread with olive oil, butter, and honey, with a local Berber family. Next we'll head out on 5-hour hike through ancient mountain villages, starting at the hamlet of Oualmes (1150m). We'll hike across the river and up along a narrow winding hillside path surrounded by fields of corn towards Anins and then through the col (1670m) where we'll have lunch at the Berber village of Tizin-Oucheg. After lunch we'll explore the hidden village of Agard then walk to Anamer and Tazintoute (1148m), where we'll cross the Assif Ourika river to get back to our vehicle. We'll drive back to our riad for a delicious and well-deserved dinner under a roof-top Berber tent, overlooking the city lights of Marrakech.

Day 8 Today our Morocco surf and cultural vacation ends. We'll drive you to the airport at Marrakech for your journey home, or you can choose to stay on for an extra day.
